It all began on May 8, 2025.
A one-way ticket to myself.
Four days alone in Marrakech, to celebrate a personal turning point — a deep inner shift that called for silence, unfamiliar streets, and freedom.
I needed to lose myself. And so I did.
I wandered through the vibrant colors of the Medina, the scent of spices, the echoing voices in the alleyways, and the unhurried rhythm of time. But somewhere in that overwhelming chaos… something — or someone — found me.
The cats.

Dozens of eyes looked at me, asking for nothing, yet telling me everything.
They chose me. They followed me. They filled my heart.
In just four days, I received a quiet, powerful kind of love — unconditional and urgent.
And when I returned home, I brought back more than memories: I carried an idea that wouldn’t let go.
To help them.
That’s how my project was born:
“One Paw at a Time – Helping the Street Cats of Marrakech’s Medina.”
Sometimes, we think we’re traveling to find ourselves…
and instead, we discover we’ve been called to something greater.
My name is Silvia.
And today, I’m the Cat Lady of Marrakech’s Medina.
